The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

Message for New Years Day 2011

When befriended, remember it; when you befriend, forget it.” Benjamin Franklin

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13

Solute: “a gesture of respect, homage, or polite recognition or acknowledgment” New Oxford American Dictionary

To Guido Farinaro, USMC, these [stars] are yours, not mine! With love and respect, your platoon leader, Pete Pace.” This statement was found on a note at the foot of the Vietnam Memorial. To the notecard were pinned the four stars of General Pete Pace. He left the note card with his stars pinned to it shortly after he gave up his post as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Throughout his career he kept a list of the soldiers he lost as a lieutenant platoon leader in vietnam. Even as a four star general he could recall the names from the list. He never forgot them, or the sacrifice they made. On this new years day most of us have made a commitment of some sort for success in the upcoming year. Let's hope we all reach success, but in it, never, ever forget the people we owe our successes too. They are the lynchpin of our past and future triumphs and we owe them our gratitude.
