The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

Set Free!

“To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting.” - Sun Tzu The Art of War

Then from his presence the hand was sent, and this writing was inscribed.  And this is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, and PARSIN.  This is the interpretation of the matter: MENE, God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end; TEKEL, you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting; PERES, your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and the Persians. - Daniel 5:24-28

Weigh: “to merit consideration as important” - Merriam-Webster Dictionary

To me
It is to be free
Mene, Mene,
Tekel and Parsin
Free?
It speaks to all of us, if we’re honest
God has numbered the days of your kingdom
And brought it to an end.
God has numbered the days of our kingdoms
And brought them to an end.
Free?
You have been weighed in the balances
We have been found wanting
Free?
Our kingdoms will be given to another
Our glory will be taken away
There is a King who will rule forever
His glory will never be taken
Never brought to an end
Free!
All have sinned and gone astray
But there is Calvary
Free!
Knees knock, fear sets in
It’s terrifying to think about the end
But the end is com’n
It’s just around the bend
Justified, just as if I’d never sinned
Free!
Mene, Mene,
Tekel and Parsin
That hand maybe never spoke to you
But it’s been talking to you and me
We’ve been found wanting
Jesus has been waiting
Waiting for you and for me
Waiting to set us free!
He’s won the war
He’s done the best
Not with fear and gore
But with the heart in His chest
Broken for you and for me
On Calvary’s tree
