The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

All Synched Up

“Did it ever occur to you, that God has all the calendars of the universe synched up on His device. Like in the cloud of heaven God knows what’s gonna be happening in your industry, in your life, and in your family. God just kinda works everything out.” - Steven Furtick (Pastor of Elevation Church, Charlotte, NC)

Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors, remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,” calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it. - Isaiah: 46:8-11

Sync: “Harmony; accord” - The Free Dictionary

How much does God, having everything worked out, affect your life? Do we really believe God is in control? Do we really believe that He knows the end from the beginning? Even in my life? My wife and I have calendars we share somewhere out in cyberspace. When she makes an appointment I see it on my phone, iPad, and computer. All at the same time even. And the same goes for the schedules I create and mess up. It’s awesome because I can look at our calendar and know that I’m not busy Friday. Not yet at least. I can kinda know what’s going to happen on Friday for me. Have you ever thought that God knows your calendar? That He has events planned for you? That there are things scheduled you don’t even know about? He does! He scheduled a visit with you, just like He scheduled a visit to meet Saul on the road to Damascus to change his name to Paul, and then change the world in the name of Christ through him; the guy who was on his way to kill some Christians. But have you put Him on your schedule? I know there are a lot of days He doesn’t quite fit into mine. Not the way I want anyway. You see, God has veto power over our schedules. The golf lessons next Wednesday. They’re in His hands. The girls night out. In His hands. Facebook event. His hands. I don’t have the ability to philosophize about whether God is in absolute control over our lives at every moment, or if He allows us to make some of the decisions. What I do know is that whether or not we share our calendar with Him, He already knew what we have scheduled while He was busy breathing life into the first man. He sees you. He loves you. And He knows you. Do we know Him? Give your schedule to Him and I guarantee you will.

Daily Journaling Questions:
  1. How did I help someone in kindness today?
  2. What did I learn today?
  3. What am I thankful for?
  4. Who did I love today?
  5. What am I dreaming of?
  6. What about today do I want to remember forever?
  7. What are my goals for tomorrow?
