The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

Dot-To-Dot... The Masterpiece's Path

There’s a land that is fairer than day,
And by faith we can see it afar;
For the Father awaits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there.
- Excerpt from the song In The Sweet By And By by Bennett and Webster

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:6

Ethereal: “extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world” - New Oxford American Dictionary

Do you know where you’re going?  I know I don’t.  I’m not even sure how this message is going to end up.  That sounds kind of scary.  It sounds like it could lead to a life of manic confusion and fog.  But nothing could be more exciting, if you’re following the Lord.  Whether you know it or not.  Whether you’ll admit it or not.  None of us know where we’re going.  We may have a plan.  We may have set a destination.  But roads can close.  Plans can easily be changed by influence.  And destinations can lose their luster.  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s good to have a plan for your life.  It’s good to know where you want to go.  But it’s more important to have a good leader.  A good leader can redirect a lost follower.  A good leader can show a better way.  A good leader can provide a better destination.  So I choose to follow God.  Hopefully someday I’ll have accomplished some of the things I’d like to do.  Hopefully I’ll have some of the things I’d like to own.  Hopefully this message will turn out ok.  Hopefully.  But in the meantime, I’m going to do my best to follow the Leader, the Lord.  With Him there is no hopefully.  There is destiny.  For me that means following step by step.  Sometimes writing word by word.  And that’s so exciting to me.  It’s like dot-to-dot.  Just follow from one to two, then three and four; and soon the picture appears.  What didn’t make sense before can become a masterpiece with God.  Let’s not rob ourselves of that final work.  Let’s continue on His path for our lives.  It won’t always be easy.  We won’t always be able to see far ahead.  However, it will be worthwhile.  Because a masterpiece is waiting at the end.

Daily Journaling Questions:
How did I help someone in kindness today?
What did I learn today?
What am I thankful for?
Who did I love today?
What am I dreaming of?
What about today do I want to remember forever?
What are my goals for tomorrow?
Thanks for reading,

Jake
