The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

A Revolution

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” - Corrie Ten Boom

“I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard see, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from her to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” - Jesus - Matthew 17:20b

Revolution: “a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people's ideas about it” - New Oxford American Dictionary

Welcome to a new year.  Maybe you’ve already set a resolution, and that’s a good thing.  But how about this?  A new years revolution.  Of course I didn’t make up the phrase.  I heard it from a kid somewhere on TV or something.  But what if that’s what we wanted for this year?  We often make resolutions.  But how long does a resolution last?  A year?  Maybe as long as we can be consistent?  As long as we can resist a temptation?  As long as it doesn’t hurt, too bad?  Resolutions, we know, are impossible.  I’m not saying they’re of no value.  Or that they’re not important.  Just that they’re impossible.  Since when can we keep true to anything, in the strict sense of the word?  But a revolution…  There’s something that can make a difference.  But a revolt against what?  Against what we are?  What we believe in?  Values?  How about revolting against the things that are holding us back.  Revolting against the resistance to our purpose.  How about a revolution for faith in our potential.  And who knows what that is?  What is our potential?  Can we change the world?  Can we change the world for just one?  That would be a revolution.  That’s what Jesus did and is still doing.  He simply changed the world for those around Him, one at a time.  He knew their potential and purpose and pulled it out of them.  Want to know your potential?  Want to know your purpose?  Know Jesus.  God knows you’re not perfect.  God knows you can’t do it all.  God knows your life depends on Him.  Whether we know that or not is a different story.  But God knows that too.  Want a resolution to last a lifetime.  Let God do a revolution in your life.  Happy New Year!
