The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

Christ Was Not Predicted

“This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me”
- Excerpt from the song This Is Amazing Grace by Phil Wickham

Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. - Isaiah 49:15-16

Renege: “go back on a promise, undertaking, or contract” - New Oxford American Dictionary

Sometimes there is nothing to do but to praise God for what He’s done for us. There is nothing like Him. There is nothing like the Bible. There are many books that claim to be authorities on the spiritual. But there are none that claim to be the word of God, from God Himself; written over thousands of years, consistent throughout; persistent and accurate through time and trial; relevant, verified, and true; for every generation. Christ was not predicted, we can all make predictions. Rather, He was promised. Spoken of in past tense hundreds of years before His birth. Why the Cross? Why Christ? I don’t know, except that it’s unforgettable. Yes, thousands have been crucified and forgotten. But only one crucified, entombed a dead man, and come back physically to be with His followers. There is nothing like Jesus. Able to break down barriers. Able to rule the hardest in absolute grace and total humility. Because He loves us. He will never forget us. Yet we forget Him continually. He gave us His Word. And Yet we renege on ours constantly. “Your walls are constantly before Me.” He says. Our problems are always on His mind. But we keep them to ourselves. How much of us do we keep for ourselves? How much could we let go of if we gave ourselves to Him completely? He gave everything He had for us. Can we do the same for Him? We wear His Cross. But do we respect it? No other symbol comes close in meaning. Do we know its true worth? Sometimes there is nothing to do but to praise God for what He’s done for us.

Daily Journaling Questions:
  1. How did I help someone in kindness today?
  2. What did I learn today?
  3. What am I thankful for?
  4. Who did I love today?
  5. What am I dreaming of?
  6. What about today do I want to remember forever?
  7. What are my goals for tomorrow?
Thanks for reading,

Jake
