The Intent of This Blog

This blog is intended to be a tool for the growth of whoever wants to use it. It is a daily journal intended to help us be more introspective. Every day I will do my best to supply a motivational quote, a Bible verse, a vocabulary word, and a personal message from myself. Use these if you like as motivation to improve yourself. Then, simply answer the daily questions provided honestly and see if it has an impact on your life. Zig Ziglar said, "If you don't have daily objectives, you qualify as a dreamer." Lets not be just dreamers but doers. Remember Martin Luther King Jr not only had a dream, he also had an objective. Thanks for reading, Jake

A Greater Goal

“Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” - Helen Keller

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me.” - Jesus - John 14:1

With: “indicating responsibility” - New Oxford American Dictionary

You’ll never know what kind of things you'll encounter in life. We can make plans and goals, but we can't always predict the obstacles that will get in the way. Perseverance is needed in order to surpass our obstacles and reach our potential. Take for example school. We all have to get through it. Some days are awesome, some aren’t. Friends will be there sometimes, sometimes they won't. Some tests will be easy, some won’t. Life in general is the same. It doesn't mean we give up however. No, we keep studying, we keep going, we keep our eyes on the finish; and somehow the finish makes the journey a little more manageable. There is however, a greater goal than school, or friendships, or anything we’ll experience as individuals. Heaven is that goal. And Christ is the way. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me." - John 14:6 It won't always be easy to follow The Way. It will be difficult following Jesus at times. There will be obstacles for sure. People will try to convince that we’re absolutely foolish. We may even be made fun of for our beliefs. It will take perseverance to stay with Christ. WITH is the key word in that sentence. We'll need Jesus to be WITH us if we ever expect to make it. The great news is that He gives us the ability to persevere, He gives us courage in the face of fear, and He gives us hope through our faith. The Bible says "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 Through faith in Christ we can hope for Salvation. Our greatest reason to persevere; our greatest goal.
